Examination prior to the IVF cycle

Before the treatment it is required to get the primary consultation during which the specialists determine the examination scope and select the treatment method; also You will be able to discuss all issues concerned with the doctor. In compliance with Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine of 23 December, 2008, No.771, the following examination scope is recommended.

Obligatory examination

The wife:

  • X-ray fluorography (valid for 1 year)
  • Blood group and Rh factor
  • General blood analysis including the blood clotting time (valid for 1 month)
  • Common urine analysis (1 month)
  • Ultrasonic examination of the pelvic organs
  • Blood analyses for syphilis (RW), HIV, hepatitis B and C (3 months)
  • Bacterioscopic analysis of the vaginal, urethra and cervical channel discharges (1 month)
  • General gynecological examination
  • Cytological examination of the cervical smear (6 months)
  • Certificate of the physician confirming the state of health; in case of internal organ diseases it is necessary to indicate degree of their severity and recommendations concerning safety and possibility of bearing pregnancy (valid for 1 year).

The husband:

  • Blood analyses for syphilis (RW), HIV, hepatitis B and C (3 months)
  • Spermogram
  • X-ray fluorography (valid for 1 year)

Examinations if medically required

A series of examinations allows of clarifying the infertility causes, assist to find the individual approach to Your treatment and, finally, to enhance probability of pregnancy. The scope of such examinations is determined by the doctor on the individual basis.

The wife:

  • Examination of the uterine and fallopian tubes (hysterosalpingography, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy)
  • Biopsy of the endometrium
  • Bacterioscopic analysis of the urethra and cervical channel material
  • Blood analyses for hormone levels (follicle-stimulating hormone, interstitial cell-stimulating hormone, estradiol, prolactin, testosterone, cortisol, progesterone, thyroid stimulating hormone, T3 and T4)
  • Examination for presence of anti-sperm and anti-phospholipid antibodies
  • Examination for urogenital and TORCH infections
  • Consultations with other specialists if medically required
  • Medical and genetic consulting

The husband:

  • Blood group and Rh factor
  • Consultation by andrologist
  • Medical and genetic consulting and determination of the husband’s karyotype
  • Examination for TORCH infections
  • Blood analyses for hormone levels (follicle-stimulating hormone, interstitial cell-stimulating hormone, testosterone, prolactin)
